Why in English?

You may wonder why on earth I decided to blog in English. Why would a Flemish guy start to expose the world to his mediocre English? Why doesn't he stick to Dutch, his mother tongue.

It's quite simple actually. The main reason is that most of my potential readers will speak English anyway and those that don't... well they definitely master enough of that fine language to follow my ramblings and if not, tough luck.

Another, equally important reason is that most of the people I interact with on line are native English speakers and I'm part of a bilingual Dutch-English household. My wife's Nigerian and my children constantly juggle the two languages anyway

That's enough for the introspective self-analysing psycho-babble for today, let's get into what you can expect from this blog. Being in an interracial, inter cultural marriage gives me a slightly broader perspective than your average lay person on the subjects I'm interested in.

You can expect posts, discussions, reviews on anything that has got to do with racism, interracial relationships, bridging cultural gaps, politics, science, skepticism and religion from my perspective, which is that of a left leaning European who fancies himself sort of an intellectual.
That last thing will be yours to judge of course.

I expect to post at least a couple of times per week, but don't guarantee any regularity just yet., I need to find my flow first and get into the habbit of writing again.

Happy reading
